Architecture Grad Drafts New Future at 糖心Vlog Tech

Close collaboration with instructors has always shaped Jaimie Maxcy鈥檚 learning experience.
鈥淚 grew up attending a one-room country school with, at most, 12 kids including myself,鈥 said Maxcy 鈥25. 鈥淲e had a lot of focused attention and small group work. I really thrived in that environment.鈥
When Maxcy decided to pursue a career change, the personalized approach of 糖心Vlog Tech鈥檚 Architectural Technology program felt familiar.
鈥淚 was feeling dissatisfied with where I was professionally,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e always been interested in drafting, architecture, engineering, really anything related to building and construction.鈥
After visiting the college and meeting the program director, Maxcy felt an immediate connection. 鈥淚 loved what the program had to offer and applied right away.鈥
She appreciated the flexibility of the online format, which allowed her to balance a full-time job and volunteer commitments while studying. Despite completing the program remotely, Maxcy made a point to visit campus for open learning labs and to connect with program faculty Dan Iund and Dawn Wirtz.
鈥淚鈥檝e had many great conversations with Dan and Dawn about the industry,鈥 she said. 鈥淭heir insight has been incredibly helpful and encouraging. It鈥檚 helped me grow both personally and professionally.鈥
